About
Meet Miss Holley
Miss Holley loves to share the creation of beautiful music with others. She specializes in private piano instruction for youth, ages 5-18, from beginner to advanced levels. She also teaches adults at all levels. She teaches using a combination of method books, Classical music, and any popular music that the student chooses. Choice in music literature is always so important; she wants to make sure that her students love the music they are playing. Miss Holley is a member of the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) and encourages students to participate in Certificate of Merit.
Miss Holley has been teaching since 2008, after extensive study and work, became a member of MTAC in 2019, and has a private studio in Escondido. The studio instrument is a Yamaha Baby Grand Piano. She has a husband and five children, all with different personalities, and has learned to see the best in their differences.
"My goals are for you to enjoy the music you play and for you to play your best!"

Lessons & Workshops
Personalized Lessons
Tailored Music Education
My goal is to help students learn an appreciation of music and an ability to express themselves through music. I want to empower them with the skills and passion to become an accomplished performer in order to contribute to the music cultrue in their home and community. Having a well rounded proficiency in music means studying technique, theory, ear training, sight reading, and honing performance skills. I love it when students bring music that they want to learn, and I also love to introduce new music to them that they fall in love with.
Performance Opportunities
Versatile Workshops & Recitals
I hold at least two Piano Workshops throughout the year where the students practice performing for each other and have group learning games. I hold at least two Piano Recitals per year, one at Christmas, where they can get experience accompanying, and one in the spring, which is always fun, original, and entertaining for students and audience members. There are also community opportunities to perform, especially through the Music Teachers Association of California.
Musical Growth
Inspiring Creativity
I encourage my students to participate in Certificate of Merit (CM) through MTAC, especially once they reach Level 3 or 4. Fees range from $85-110, depending on level. CM includes repertoire and technique evaluations, and theory and sight-reading tests. Evaluations from another person help with student growth, and the deadlines help students work hard to accomplish more in a set amount of time.
Practice Expectations
Encouraging Progress
A regular daily practice schedule helps students to progress. I expect students to practice 5 days per week.
Primer to Level 2: assignment-based
Level 2-3 (CM Level 1-3): 15-20 minutes
Level 4-5: 30-45 minutes
Level 6-7 45-60 minutes
Level 8-10: 60-90-120 minutes

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS
My 3 kids have been learning piano here since Holley's studio opened. We love it. She focuses on theory, technique, and having fun. My oldest took AP music theory as a freshman and easily got a 5 because of the background Holley had given him. She is amazingly talented as a pianist and as a teacher. I highly recommend her studio!

Holley is a wonderful piano teacher!! She has taught me everything I know, and even though I’ve moved away I still come to her for advice and corrections with my piano pieces. She is extremely patient and supportive, and her lessons are always a productive use of time.
